SCRS Mentorship Program

Connecting students of SCRS Chapters with leading academicians and industry professionals, for research, careers, and skills that last.

About the program

The SCRS Mentorship Program links students in our Chapters with established academicians and experienced industry professionals. Mentors guide students through research, careers, and skill-building. Terms & Conditions

The SCRS Mentorship Program is a voluntary, non-commercial initiative of the Soft Computing Research Society (SCRS). By applying to or participating in the program, you agree to the following:

  1. Availability of mentors. The program depends entirely on the availability and willingness of mentors, who offer their time voluntarily. SCRS does not guarantee that a mentor in your preferred area of expertise will be available, or willing to mentor you, for any particular duration or period.
  2. Program duration. The duration of each mentorship engagement is not fixed. It will be decided by SCRS based on feedback from both the mentor and the mentee, and may be shortened, extended, or concluded accordingly.
  3. No guarantee of matching. Submitting an application does not guarantee selection or a mentor match. Matching is done by SCRS at its sole discretion, based on mentor availability, domain fit, and program capacity.
  4. No guaranteed outcomes. Mentors provide guidance and advice only. SCRS and its mentors do not guarantee any specific result, including research publications, admissions, internships, placements, or career advancement. Opinions and advice given by mentors are their own and do not necessarily represent the views of SCRS.
  5. Changes to the program. SCRS reserves the right to modify, reschedule, suspend, or discontinue the program, or any part of it, and to change its structure, duration, eligibility criteria, benefits, and these terms and conditions at any time, with or without prior notice. Updated terms take effect once published on this website.
  6. Changes to mentor assignments. SCRS may reassign, replace, or withdraw a mentor or mentee at any time, including due to mentor unavailability, inactivity, or conduct that does not meet program expectations.
  7. Eligibility and conduct. Participation is limited to eligible members of SCRS Students' Chapters. All participants are expected to act professionally and respectfully, and to keep shared information confidential. SCRS may end the participation of anyone who breaches these expectations.
  8. Certificates and recognition. Certificates or letters of appreciation are issued at SCRS's discretion, subject to satisfactory participation and completion of program requirements.
  9. Independent engagement. Any arrangement made between a mentor and a mentee outside the official program is their own responsibility. SCRS is not liable for it.

SCRS's decisions regarding the program are final.
